8 restaurants in Toronto where celebrities have been spotted

Drake, Shawn Mendes, DJ Khaled and Sir Elton John are just some of the celebrities who frequent Toronto restaurants. They’ve been spotted in local restaurants, cafes, and bars, and they’re not shy when it comes to talking about their favorite meals in town. Why not check out some of them?

Impact Kitchen

This local, health-focused chain is loved by locals for its gluten-free and minimally processed cuisine, including Shawn Mendes. The star was recently spotted having breakfast at Impact Kitchen with celebrity music director Director X. The director even posted a video of the two of them at their table on his Instagram story.

Soto Soto

Most would recognize Sotto Sotto as one of Drake’s favorite Toronto restaurants, he even went so far as to mention it in a song on his 2013 album Nothing remains. But he is far from the only star to frequent this upscale restaurant. shark tank Superstar Kevin O’Leary Destroyed When the restaurant burned down in 2014 – don’t worry, it has since been rebuilt.

Jennifer Garner and Ricky Gervais dined at Soto Soto, too, CTV News reports. And according to The Daily Beast, it’s also done so by Brad Pitt, Oprah William Neeson and Robin Williams, along with many other stars on the restaurant’s photo wall.

Ramen Ishin

The staff at Ramen Isshin on College St were in for a pleasant surprise when the Toronto Raptor Utah Watanabe walked in for a meal. A group photo of the staff with Watanabe was posted on the restaurant’s social media in October 2021.

Senator

This 1940s-inspired eatery near Dundas Square is a favorite of Sir Elton John, who says it has “the best burger in the world.” He and his Canadian director husband David Furnish often stop by when they visit his hometown of Toronto.

Not only is this East End Caribbean restaurant and bar a favorite with celebs, it was also the background to the music video for Rihanna and Drake’s song “Work.” He’s also loved by athletes including Toronto Raptors and NBA icon Steve Curry, who apparently brought his entire family to dinner there a few years ago.

Ozzy’s Burgers

Aquaman himself was spotted at this gourmet burger joint in Kensington Market in October 2021. The owner posted a photo and video of Jason Momoa digging into his burger, which the star clearly enjoyed.

Jamaican Chubby Kitchen

Celebrities love the good vibe and food at Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen, a vibrant restaurant and tropical cocktail bar just off King St West. DJ Khaled shouted out to the restaurant on Instagram in January 2020, saying he loves energy and food. It’s also where Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were seen packing their PDA between their bites of food in 2019.

This upscale seafood restaurant in Davenport is popular with stars (especially famous musicians) including Drake and Mariah Carey. The restaurant has a rich history and a detailed schedule is posted on their website.

The site says that in the 1970s when the restaurant was still a café, the original owner was visiting international artists such as Liberace, Nana Mouskouri, Harry Belafonte, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, Jose Feliciano, and Joni Mitchell.
