Ex-girlfriend Kate Moss is scheduled to testify on Wednesday
Depp’s trial against Heard in defamation ends on Friday (May 23), after six weeks of testimony.
Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for £39m, after the actress wrote an op-ed describing herself as “the public figure of domestic violence”. She is opposing him £81m in compensation.
Before the jury is sent to decide the verdict (there are six possible ways in which the trial could end), some witnesses will still be called to testify, as well as closing statements from the legal teams involved.
Depp’s ex-girlfriend Kate Moss is said to be testifying on Wednesday – but she won’t be the first high-profile figure to express her views on the case. The five Hollywood stars also spoke out in defense of Johnny Depp:
Winona Ryder

Winona was engaged to Depp between 1990 and 1993, after meeting him at the premiere of The Great Balls Of Fire. While the actress was in the middle of a lawsuit against The Sun for calling him a “wife racket,” she has been vocal in her support of him.
“The idea that he’s an incredibly violent person is the farthest thing from the Johnny I’ve known and loved,” she said. “He was never, ever, violent towards me. He was never violent or abusive towards anyone I saw.”
Sia
In October 2020, Sia expressed her support for Depp on Twitter.
“Just show my general support for Johnny Depp,” she said. “I mean, I’d love for him to clean up and stop the jewelry, but he’s clearly the victim after hearing those tapes.”
Penelope Cruz

Penelope starred alongside Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. She made an affidavit (statement of evidence) for the defamation case Depp v. Heard in 2020.
“I’ve seen Johnny in many situations and he’s always kind to everyone around him,” she said. “He is one of the most generous people I know.” She added that Depp treated her with “sweetness, protection, and kindness” during filming.
Chris Rock

According to LADBible, Chris Rock recently did a dig at Amber Heard during the London leg of his Ego Death Tour.
The comedian reportedly said, “Believe all women, believe all women…except for Amber Heard.” “What the hell is it? It’s dirty in his bed! It’s okay, but it’s not okay.”
He continued, “What the hell is going on there? And they had an affair after that? It must have been some amazing pussy. I’ve been with some crazy whores, but damn it.”
Javier Bardem

In addition to being married to Penélope Cruz, Javier has starred alongside Depp in several Pirates of the Caribbean films. In a document he wrote in 2020, he is reported to have said, “I love Johnny. He has always been a true gentleman and a very generous and caring friend to my family and myself.
Furthermore, I got the gift of working with him twice and witnessed his respectful attitude towards every crew member along with his unique sense of humor and fun. “
