On Tuesday, news broke that 14 children and a teacher were killed in a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Ovaldi, Texas.
The suspected gunman has been identified as an 18-year-old Uvald High School student and is now dead.
During a brief press conference, Uvald Unified Independent School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo told reporters, “The suspect acted alone during his heinous crime. Families are being notified and we are providing services to them.”
Governor Greg Abbott added: “He shot and killed 14 students in a horrific and incomprehensible manner and killed a teacher.
“When parents drop their kids off at school, they have every expectation of knowing that they will be able to pick up their kids when that school day is over. And there are families in mourning now,” Abbott continued. “The State of Texas is mourning with them over the fact that these parents will not be able to bring their children.”
The suspect allegedly shot and killed his grandmother before he shot the elementary school.
After hearing the news, many big names like Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, LeBron James, and Kris Evans have taken to social media to express their anger.
Kylie wrote on Instagram, “Another school shooting. Devastating. It breaks my heart for these families.”
Khloé added, “I cannot understand today’s tragedy in our country. 14 children are dead. How is this happening. My heart aches. I pray, I hope, I beg, I beg.. Please legislators, government officials, and leaders of our country, do something to protect our children.”

Enough is enough. Just last week, a targeted mass shooting at a market in Buffalo and now a school shooting in Ovaldi. Communities should be safe in their grocery stores, and our kids should be safe in class! This must end.
Thoughts and prayers are not enough. We need to change. 💔

My heart goes out to the children, staff, and families at Robb Elementary School in Ovaldi, Texas. The lack of progress on how to protect innocent lives from senseless violence by the use of firearms is deeply shameful in this country.

Anyone who says “now isn’t the time to talk about gun control” doesn’t care about killing the damned kids today.

It takes a monster to kill children. But watching monsters kill children over and over again and do nothing isn’t just crazy – it’s an inhumane act.

14 children and one teacher. There are no words. No action was taken at all.

There is no such thing as “pro-life” while supporting laws that allow children to be shot in their schools, elderly people in grocery stores, worshipers in their religious homes, survivors of abusers, or anyone in a crowded place.
It is a pagan cult of violence. It must end.

In my elementary school, we did hurricane and fire drills to prepare for disasters.
In elementary schools today, children are bearing the burden of preparing for a mass murderer walking their halls.
Being a kid doesn’t have to be that hard.
