From decor to names, the internet shares the ‘most serious’ reasons not to keep up with someone

    Reddit users didn’t hold back on a viral post when asked about the reasons behind not dating someone.

    What is the most difficult reason not to date someone? u/RAMORAMORA’s post asked fellow Reddit users on the popular “Ask Reddit” forum, which has garnered more than 23,000 votes.

    Bustle reported that there are some dating habits that can be toxic, like being too nice or too negative, being critical and jumping to conclusions.

    Being a partner who interrupts you frequently can strain the relationship.

    “It is very difficult to be with a cutter and continue to feel good about yourself,” the article read. “The only way to solve this problem is to be direct and let your partner know how you feel when he’s always talking to you and interrupting you.”

    Redditors flooded the comments section to share what they felt were dating red flags.


    Many have shared that a simple reason for not dating someone might have something to do with their partner’s name.

    “She had the same name as my mom,” the Redditor said.

    Another wrote, “If they have the same name as either of my brothers or my parents lol, no.”

    One of them shared that he dated a man who had a sister with the same name as hers. Because of that, her boyfriend at the time called the Redditor by her middle name instead.

    Another said the problem wasn’t the person’s name, but the man’s cat’s name, along with the way he said it, was a problem.

    “He only went on one date but called his cat Karimi, the way he said it pushed me,” the Redditor admitted.

    The Redditor shared that they are currently shopping for home décor and get frustrated when they see these types of home décor.

    “He ate with his fists closed around his utensils like a little kid with his face reaching for his food as if someone was going to steal it,” the Redditor commented.

    Another person talked about how his partner eats pizza.

    “She ate pizza with her hands,” they wrote. “No, not like you think. She was going to gather the upper layer in a chaotic pile and the like [an] I scratch it and eat it, then cut the bread and eat it.”


    One Redditor wrote that while their girlfriend was “nice, caring, and generous,” they found her more annoying the longer they were together.

    They said, “I felt I should apologize to everyone I spoke to for how terrible she was.”

    A fellow Redditor shared that they dated a “trouble-worthy” guy.

    They remember: “He was constantly embarrassing me for being awkward and trying so hard.”

    Although they initially felt guilty about ending the relationship, this feeling was short-lived. They wrote that he began to harass them.

    Some Redditors have revealed that they get frustrated dating someone who has spoken out loud.

    “She was basically screaming, she was so loud I couldn’t wait for it to be over,” wrote one Reddit user.

    A few of them said they were late in pronouncing the word “espresso”.

    One commenter wrote, “I’m from Seattle and a girl I dated was from two towns but not far away.” “I pronounced espresso ‘espresso,’ and that was the beginning of the fast end.”

    Another wrote, “They pronounce the word ‘expresso’ when they mean ‘espresso’ or ‘express’ instead of ‘special’.”
