The first long weekend of summer is fast approaching: Memorial Day weekend. In 2022, Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 30, and serves as the unofficial start of summer. It’s also a great time to make big savings on those big household items you’ve been eyeing.

Prices may go up across the board, but Memorial Day sale is a great time to get big discounts on all furniture from sofas and mattresses to appliances, outdoor furniture, and patio furniture.

While we can’t confirm exactly what Wayfair has in store for Memorial Day sales just yet, we do know it’s going to be huge. We expect Wayfair’s Memorial Day sale to continue Thursday through Monday of Memorial Day weekend as in the past and that Wayfair’s biggest discounts will be on furniture. Over the past three Memorial Day sale at Wayfair, discounts have been offered on nearly every item, but furniture and home décor have had the biggest price drops, up to 70%.

Bed Bath & Beyond is gearing up for massive discounts during Memorial Day furniture sales. Sales will run on the Bed Bath & Beyond website and in stores nationwide from Monday, May 23 to Monday, May 30.

Home décor and bathroom items will be on sale for up to 30% off, but you can expect even greater savings on furniture at Bed Bath & Beyond. 35% discount will be given to all furniture. Shoppers can also see additional discounts on kitchen and bedding items as well.

Walmart may not offer special Memorial Day specials, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get great discounts on furniture at the department store. In addition to the lower prices you might find any day of the week, this year, Walmart will be offering a huge furniture dip over Memorial Day weekend.

Memorial Day furniture sales are already in full swing at Macy’s. Shop in person or online for 10% to 60% off mattresses, rugs, and furniture. Target generally doesn’t have official Memorial Day sale, but that doesn’t mean you can’t expect discounts. In the past, Lowe’s offered deep discounts on big appliances like refrigerators, outdoor furniture, mattresses, lighting, and more. In 2021, the Memorial Day sale of Lowe began on May 24 and ran through June 2, so we expect a similar timeframe for the 2022 sale.

Home Depot’s Memorial Day sales begin Thursday, May 19, and run through Monday, May 30. Appliances, grills, and power tools are for sale, and for those looking to kick off summer with a new outdoor setting, this sale is for you. This year, The Home Depot is offering free delivery on all patio furniture purchased online, and free delivery on all online orders over $45. Update both your outdoor and indoor furniture with up to 35% off selected furniture and up to 40% off selected mattresses. Memorial Day sales are a great time to update home office furniture, too. Office Depot customers can save over 50% on select office furniture and over 50% off select seats between Thursday, May 26 and Saturday, June 4. Mortar Depot Office and OfficeMax stores nationwide.

Sale of Raymour & Flanigan’s Memorial Day furniture is in full swing. From May 3 to May 30, shoppers have more than one way to save at Raymour & Flanigan. 10% off everything in-store and online with up to 35% off select items, but if you’re looking to shop big, take advantage of the Raymour & Flanigan special. For purchases over $2,940, Raymour & Flanigan offers a 60-month equal payment plan with absolutely zero interest.

Memorial Day sales are ongoing at Ashley Furniture and will run through Monday, June 6. With mattresses starting at $129, vanity and wardrobe furniture starting at $170, and living room and dining room furniture under $600, shoppers are sure to save a lot. On this Memorial Day, Ashley Furniture is also offering free delivery to the door. Shoppers with an Ashley Advantage credit card are eligible for a 0% interest 60-month payment plan on eligible purchases.

Crate & Barrel’s Memorial Day sale usually runs Friday through Monday of Memorial Day weekend. Shoppers can expect a huge discount—over the past few years, up to 60% off clearance items have been offered—plus double reward points for Crate & Barrel members. We expect this sale to extend to Crate & Kids, CB2 and possibly even Hudson Grace items as well. In the past, special offers such as free local furniture delivery and free shipping have also been offered.

In 2021, West Elm began selling its warehouses on Memorial Day Friday, May 28, by adding an additional 30% off clearance items as well as a 3% refund for rewards members. Sale items included bedroom and living room items, rugs, and office chairs, and special deals from West Elm Kids. The savings looked like up to 75% off furniture and up to 50% off sofas, benches, and stools.

Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids started Memorial Day sales early in the past and we expect the company to do so again this year. Sales usually start the Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend, and officially end on Memorial Day. Historically, Pottery Barn introduced a buy more and save more model where the more you spend, the higher your discount, however, in 2021, the Pottery Barn introduced a flat discount model. In 2021, Pottery Barn offered up to 50% off select furniture models as well as 12-month financing options. Children’s furniture and children’s furniture had similar sales at Pottery Barn Kids.
