See Inside This Recently Renovated Dallas Home Listed For $10.9 Million

Tucked away in a corner in the Hillcrest Estates neighborhood, this contemporary home has a unique curved design with walls of windows on both levels providing views of the property and filling the house with natural light.

The house was originally built in 2007 with the help of architect Lionel Morrison. The home underwent renovations this year led by designer Brant MacFarlane, who was part of the 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas.

Listing agent Amy Dettweiler of Compass said the renovations included moving or remodeling some rooms and a complete remodel of the basic kitchen and bathroom. External updates included adding a privacy hedge to the 1.77-acre property. A wall in the backyard, behind the house, has been lowered to make the large tree more visible.

“The whole house is built around these beautiful live oaks in the back,” Dettweiler said. “There was a limestone wall surrounding the tree, and they lowered that wall, so when you go in, the first thing you see is this beautiful tree. I think that made a huge impact on the house.”

The home is 14,795 square feet with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and four half-baths. Large floor-to-ceiling windows line the home’s exterior walls, and concrete floors give the space a modern and elegant feel.

As you enter the lobby, the main living areas are to the left. The living room and dining room share a large open space with windows on either side. There is a wet bar and wine room at one end, providing storage for glassware and drinks. There is also a half bathroom and a storage closet next to the wet bar.

The kitchen, which has been moved during recent renovations, is separated from the main living areas by built-in wooden bookshelves around the entrance. Marble worktops and stainless-steel appliances give the kitchen a chic feel, but the addition of wood bookshelves warm the space. Along one wall, more built-in cabinets are painted green which adds a pop of color. There is also a breakfast area in the kitchen, a bathroom half tucked behind the wall and a butler’s pantry.

Below the lounge from the kitchen, a playroom with a wet bar and a half bathroom provides additional entertaining space. The home’s one-car garage and three-car garage are nearby, along with stairs to the basement fitness room, which has a full bathroom.

The master suite is the only bedroom on the first level. It has two large walk-in closets, a luxurious bathroom (part of recent renovations), an outdoor shower, and a utility room.

Five bedrooms, games room, media room, utility room and office on the second floor. Each of the bedrooms has an en suite bathroom, and the media room has an en suite bathroom with two halves and a wet bar. The property also has guest accommodations located on the second floor of the house. This space includes a kitchenette, living area, bedroom, and full bathroom.
