Team Amber: Celebrities who expressed their support during the bitter $100 million trial against Johnny Depp

As a tale of blood and grit worthy of any Hollywood psychological drama, the ex-husband’s defamation lawsuit between Johnny Depp, 58, and Amber Heard, 36, captured the nation with audiences and celebrities alike lining up to choose a side.

In one corner is Johnny Depp. The heart of Hollywood, in the public’s life for more than three decades, is the premiere character in a period of time and the creator of the beloved character Captain Jack Sparrow.

And in the other corner is his ex-wife, Amber Heard, who is less famous, less famous, less famous and has less public sympathy to draw from.

While Depp has brought his beloved brand’s charisma to the courtroom and garnered the support of the dozens of celebrities he has worked with and befriended throughout his life in entertainment, Heard has found it hard to get support.

But some celebrities gave support to the Aquaman actress. So who are they?

Kathy Griffin

Comedian Kathy Griffin has come out in support of Heard after the actress posted on Twitter that she will be taking a hiatus from social media during the trial.

She commented on Heard’s ad: ‘Oh, Dole. I’m thinking of you and sending all my love.

Howard Stern

Veteran shockwave ace Stern, who is never afraid to speak his mind, went out against Depp at his SiriusXM show in late April.

He thought, “I’m going to put this on TV because I’m so persuasive and I’m so smart, and I’m a cool guy… I’m going to feature America’s pants on trial,” Stern said.

It’s not going well for you, not going well for her. It is not going well for anyone. It looks like you two kids are fighting. It’s just coming out really bad.

Ellen Barkin

Hollywood star Parkin briefly dated Depp in the 1990s and testified during the lawsuit against Depp.

Jurors heard that actor Edward Scissorhands was a “jealous and controlling man” who once threw a bottle of wine across a hotel room.

‘where are you going? Who are you going with? What did you do last night?’ She claimed that he would constantly ask her.

Depp replied that she held a grudge against him, since he had disdained her three decades ago.

Julia Fox

Fox was nominated for a Breakthrough Actor at the 2019 Gotham Awards after her first role in Uncut Gems, and defended Heard on Instagram.

This is clearly a sick way of taking control of her life by being sued all over the world.

Did you hit him? Yeah. Was it abuse? no. You need to have the power to be able to abuse it. She was twenty-five years old. Obviously, he’s always been more powerful including physically and financially.

David Krumholtz

TV actor Krumholtz has attacked Depp for his drug and alcohol abuse, saying he turns men into “monsters.” In a series of Instagram posts, he posted on Depp, and although he said she’s not innocent, he concluded, “I think Amber Heard.”

The lawsuit began when Depp sued Heard for defamation, seeking $50 million in damages from his ex-wife after she wrote an article in the Washington Post claiming that she had described herself as a “public figure who represents domestic violence.”

Depp’s lawyers say the article defamed him even though he never mentioned his name, because it falsely portrayed him as a domestic abuser and cost him his lucrative career, including the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.

Civil attorney Catherine Lizardo said Depp has a very unique personality, and appears to be genuine and often smiling, which could make him appeal to the jury.

This helped him win the battle for public opinion, with a petition with nearly 4.3 million signatures demanding that Heard be dropped from her role in Aquaman 2.

The roster of Team Depp’s cast is long and glossy, with names like Winona Ryder, who starred with him in 1990’s Edward Scissorhands, Javier Bardem, who put together an amazing A-list team with Depp on Pirates of the Caribbean 2017: Salazar’s Revenge, and Chris Rock, who was joking on stage saying we should “believe all women, not Amber Heard.”

“I have no doubt that Johnny will come out with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it has ever been for him and his family,” said French actress Eva Green, 41.

Courtney Love posted a video on Instagram telling how Depp once saved her life by performing CPR when she overdosed at a club.

Closing arguments for the trial will be heard Friday after seven weeks of allegations of drug use, domestic violence, sexual assault and death threats.
