Matthew Fetterman knows what it takes to build a great luxury home. Fiterman, who heads up Distinctive Residential Construction, credits his expertise in multiple aspects of community development and residential home construction from site selection to background in renovations and property sales. He was trained by builder/developer David Sturdyvin, which he calls his mentor. “Dave and my dad, Steve, go back over twenty-five years,” Matthew Fetterman said. “I worked with both for the first 10 years after arriving in Naples in 1999. This allowed me to learn about all the different areas of the building process. We were building custom houses in Marsala in Tiburon, Terrapella in Pelican Marsh, Wild Orchid in old cypress, and Caprini in Miromar Lakes”.
Particularly proud of the two custom homes he built in Olde Cypress, Fiterman credits the homeowners with a good taste for modern design. “They were ahead of the contemporary coastal design trend, they were ahead of the curve, and they went more modern, away from heavy Mediterranean design. They were different from the homes around, but still socially appropriate. I like to think that this was the beginning of a slightly more modern look in Olde Cypress which society is now beginning to embrace.”
