As if the BAFTA Awards, the Oscars and the Met Gala red carpet weren’t enough for the start of 2022, here to bring some sparkle and glamor to spring is the Cannes Film Festival, where celebrities from all over the world descended on the red carpet for the highly anticipated Cannes sequel premiere. The movie’s illustrious star, Jennifer Connelly and Tom Cruise led the charge on the red carpet on the French Riviera to pose for photos and meet fans along the way. But they weren’t the most dramatic part of the occasion, as other stars and industry insiders ramped up their playing style at the movie’s premiere.
Connelly, 51, who plays Maverick in love with Maverick in the 2022 sequel, stunned in a column dress by Louis Vuitton. The actress – who has been a longtime brand ambassador – showed off her toned figure in a figure-hugging dress that featured sequins and an off-the-shoulder neckline.
Cruz, 59—who would later receive an honorary Palme d’Or—smiled as he greeted the crowds at the event, looking as elegant as ever, in a black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt, black tie and lace-up brogue.
Of course Cruz and Conley looked glamorous and sophisticated to celebrate in the south of France, but it was their guests who brought the drama with some pretty cool looks.
Indian actress and Miss World 1994 winner Aishwarya Rai wore a voluminous Dolce & Gabbana dress that featured 3D floral fabric dangling from the black skirt of the dress, while How to get away from murder Actress Viola Davis opted for a vibrant canary yellow gown with a bird-of-paradise bobby pin in her hair.

Elsewhere, actress Eva Longoria stunned in a disco ball gown designed by Christina Ottaviano. The column pattern featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, which seems to have already been the It’s trend at this year’s film festival, and several decorative silver mosaic-style tiles.

Booming model Adriana Lima was the youngest in attendance, as she was shown in a lace-up Balmain gown, which highlighted her growing belly with wide detailing at the front.
