UK celebrities at the Met Gala and every outfit they wore

Patiently waiting for next year’s invitation x

For the first time in two years, the legendary Met Gala was held on time, on Monday (May 2). As usual, the celebs who went a lot took a… erm, subject matter art license. You’d have thought that with half of the Bridgerton crew coming up, there would be at least one person nailing a “gilded glint”, but alas, Grid’s monochromatic brutality has taken hold once again.

It’s safe to say that a lot of emphasis has been placed on the presence of Hollywood stars over the years. This Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner – what about rogue UK celebs hiding in the bathroom? Next year, I just want to see Danny Harmer in a signature red jacket and Richard Usman in a light pink tuxedo.

Fear not, though. This year, we’re putting local stars front and center. So, here are all the British celebrities who went to the Met Gala this year:

The Pam and Tommy Versace star wore it on the red carpet—and in the words of Shawn Mendes, “it gives Cher.” The thing is, I’m not sure it gives Gilded Glamor, and that’s the problem.

I kind of like it, though? Plus it looks amazing.

Mom? sorry. Mom? sorry.

I feel this look is the quintessential Kara. It is very simple, but at the same time. I’d take this on an Amy Schumer wearable black valance any day.

Best male look at night, for me. You can never go wrong with Riccardo Tisci – previously worn by Rihanna, Madonna, and Jay-Z. This is very regal, although the cape reminds me of graduation a bit.

Sorry but what is this? Puffed sleeves blouse? You star in the REGENCY PERIOD DRAMA, Simone. You could have done much better than this.

The Bridgerton actress was styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, who has dressed a number of other stars on this list.

Nicola Coughlan

I hate black bralette, *love* everything else. Feathers, train, matching pink makeup – perfection. Nicola Coughlan of Bridgerton and Derry Girls was designed by Richard Quinn – best known for dressing Billy Porter, Addison Ray and Bella Burke.

The Bridgerton girls really let us down this year — can we get the show’s designer on board for 2023, please? There is nothing particularly charming about this one, IMO. It looks like any old mesh nightgown you can get online.

Finally, some good food! I love the hoops skirt—something we should have seen more of than Team Bridgerton, in fact. Gemma’s wet-looking hair and makeup tie the look together, making it one of the best outfits in the entire Met.

Sophie Turner

This is very fluffy, very Mona Lisa. The Game Of Thrones actress stunned on this year’s red carpet at the Met Gala, wearing original Louis Vuitton.

Naomi Campbell

Original Dead Legend, next to Kate Moss. The dress, face jewelry, and details are everything you’d expect when it comes to Gilded Glamor. Of course, the ’90s supermodel is bringing Burberry back in with a stunning look.

I mean, that’s beautiful. But it’s something I wear to dinner on a special occasion. He doesn’t really go with the “gold-plated” brief, but he’s Kate Moss, so she looks really amazing anyway.

Actual Alexa Chung Off T4 And YouTube!!! Next year I’d like to see Vernon Kay and Simon Amstel go to the Met, please. This look is gorgeous—if a bit of a red carpet award winner. But it is very classic and beautiful.
