8 Celebs Who Are Banned From Attending The Met Gala (Or Simply Don’t Want To Go Back Again, Thx!)

The Met Gala is technically a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but let’s be honest: It’s mostly an excuse for a group of beautifully dressed celebrities who socialize with one another. Which sounds like a blast (that would give anything to unwind with my husband/son Timothée Chalmette), but some celebs…simply didn’t take part in it and, by the way, made their feelings known.

While Anna Wintour only acknowledged the indefinite ban One Someone from the Met Gala, a lot of celebrities are rumored to have been banned due to comments they made about the event. In the meantime, others simply made it clear that they did not want to attend. Like, again! It’s time to meet the stars maybe should not be We expect her to appear on the Met scores this year.

As cool as it is, Vogue magazine It will not change the designer’s business. But if an unknown brand is worn by a certain person in a tabloid, you will be the top designer in a week.”

Demi spoke candidly about their experience at the Met Gala during an interview with painting in 2018, and they haven’t attended since. They said at the time, “I had a terrible experience.” “This celebrity was a complete whore and was miserable to have him. It was so weird. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to get drunk.”

Demi actually went straight from the wedding to the AA meeting, saying, “I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds—millions of dollars in diamonds at the AA meeting. And I spoke more to the homeless at that meeting who had the same struggles as I do to people. At the Met Gala – and they are fakes and understated from the fashion industry.”

Demi also joked about how embarrassed they were at the Met Gala in a since-deleted Instagram that they defended when it was taken out of context:

Amy’s statement at the Met Gala didn’t cause her to be banned permanently (as far as we know!), but she did make it clear how she felt about the event during an interview with Howard Stern in 2016: A Conversation. I don’t like farce….we’re dressed like a bunch of damned assholes. I do not like that. I have no interest in fashion….I don’t care. “

    Tim Jan

We know for sure that Tim Gunn was banned from the Met Gala because he said a lot in 2016. “It’s absolutely true. It’s a crazy story, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s a very realistic story. I was asked about the most memorable thing I’ve seen in fashion and I said ‘It’s easy. Anna Wintour was being watched down stairs by two bodyguards – two huge guys – from a fashion show. All the doors to hell broke. It’s been crazy. We’ve had an open war ever since.’

Obviously, I’ll never go back, but you go and it’s such a beautiful space and it’s just a jerk from all walks of life wearing Something stupid. You walk these huge steps…and I went and pulled my husband with me too, which I’m still in trouble for.”
