The coronavirus pandemic is accelerating in many directions. Shortly after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, home prices began to rise as supply dwindled. Two years later, even with most aspects of life returning to normal, the epidemic continues to spread in the local housing market. The median home price sold in Kansas City increased 10.2% to $310,479 last year according to the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors. Inventory is still a big problem: the number of sales is 8.7% down from 2020. Homes were sold on average 22 days and 99.6% of initial asking prices.
