Celebrities who live a quiet life in Yorkshire may go fishing while sipping a pint at the pub

There’s nothing quite like the surprise you get when you catch a celebrity doing your shopping or taking your boxes.

Despite it being famous and partly for the red carpet, celebrities still like the rest of us have to take a trip to Tesco for their very own food store, or enjoy the local sights and sounds when they’re on vacation.

In Leeds and Yorkshire we are proud of some of the most famous faces in the country who have settled here. For starters, one of TV’s best (Emmerdale, of course) was filmed in Leeds, so some of its starlets have settled nearby. We’ve also bred some music and TV sets like Mel B and Jodie Whittaker.

Let’s see who resists and loves life in Yorkshire. Because, after all, who can blame them?

Amanda Owen

Amanda is known throughout Yorkshire for running her remote farm in Slydal in the Yorkshire Dales with her husband Clive. The couple share nine children and have become the stars of our Yorkshire farm.

Ravenseat Farm is a working hill farm at the top of Swaledale.

In March, the farm announced on its Yorkshire Shepherdess website that visitors were not allowed to visit Ravenseat for two months due to the peak gestation season. From May through October, you can enjoy Amanda’s cream tea. Amanda regularly shares insights into farming life on her Instagram page.

Tom Zanetti

DJ Tom Zanetti was born on a council estate in Leeds and hasn’t moved far. He is best known for his songs “Darlin” and “You Want Me” and is a regular on the reality television circuit, participating in Celebs Go Dating.

Tom also owns the popular Leeds bar Dollhouse along with his business partner and fellow DJ Kane Towner. The bar is a regular hunt for influencers and Love Island alumni and its bold and bright décor invites people to celebrate the city’s nightlife.

He also recently opened a Playroom Restaurant in Leeds and Playbar.

Georgia Steel

The Love Island, Georgia alumnus has proven that she has remained true to her roots after settling in her hometown of Thirsk.

Despite being seen in D.C. a lot after her series, Georgia came home and created her own complete home with a cinema room, double doors, and luxurious décor.

Georgia is often seen on Instagram hanging out with her friend and fellow Love Islander, Cally Jane Beech, who lives in Hull.

Spice Girl Mel B returned to her hometown of Leeds last year after spending 15 years.

Scary Spice, as she is sometimes better known, grew up in Harehills but has spent a decade and a half living in Los Angeles with her family. However, The Sun suggested last year that her UK tour had prompted her to return to Yorkshire to be closer to her mother and family.

A source told The Sun, “She’s on a great relationship with her mum again, and just feels like the time is right to move the family around and spend more time with Andrea. Mel loved her time in LA but she also wants her two youngsters to have a British accent.”

Earlier this week, Mel celebrated by making his MBE inauguration at an inauguration at Buckingham Palace.

Nicola Adams

Olympian Nicola was born and raised in Leeds, and still lives in the city.

She competed in boxing from 2017 to 2019, and as an amateur she became the first female boxer to become an Olympic champion after winning the gold medal in London 2021.

Nicola is currently waiting for the arrival of a baby boy with girlfriend Ella Page. The pair had a huge hit when they starred in Celebrity Gogglebox and fans were quick to congratulate them.

Elle from Ibiza Weekender said she is “so a Yorkshire” and is proud to represent her country of origin. Ellie, from Castleford, appeared on ITV’s Ibiza Weekender as a holiday actor and went on to star in the movie Big Brother.

Last year, she celebrated her engagement to partner Matt and kept her Instagram followers informed on her weight-loss journey, which saw her and fellow Ibiza Weekender David head to Scarborough for a fitness vacation.

There is a lot to say in the movie Emmerdale stars in Leeds and they are spread all over Yorkshire for easy access to the action.

Staff members such as Charlie Webb and Michelle Hardwicke regularly share updates about their home and family lives. Charlie and his partner Matthew Wolfenden can often be seen roaming the Yorkshire countryside on their days out.

A trip to one of Leeds’ coolest bars isn’t made until you spot a star in Emmerdale.

Elie and Azzy

Gogglebox favorites are known for the Yorkshire accents that ring on TV before narrator Craig Cash says “In Leeds.”

The couple – who come complete with their canine friends – and tales of life in Yorkshire are taking a breather from the show now that Eli Nat’s friend was hit by a car in Halton earlier this year.

A source close to Elle told The Sun that she has been asked to “take as much time as she needs” and is unlikely to return to the series.
