    About downtown Greenway

The Downtown Greenway, a collaborative project of the City of Greensboro and Action Greensboro, is a planned 4-mile walking and cycling trail that encourages economic development, increases the city’s tax base, and will improve the quality of life for its citizens. This urban ring around downtown Greensboro will enhance the urban landscape with green space that will enhance the fitness, connectedness and well-being of our residents and visitors in an aesthetically pleasing environment. The episode itself provides a unique opportunity for Greensboro to be the only one of its kind in the state and one of the few in the state. With its focus on public art, Greenway will tell stories and engage track users in a unique and authentic way. Additionally, through connections to existing and planned extensive trail systems in the city and county, this loop will connect residents from across the community and beyond.
