Night at Squaw Valley Casino has been postponed
Squaw Valley Golf Course hosts casino night. Originally scheduled for Saturday, May 7, it has been pushed back until June. More information will be released when available.
The cost will be $75. Appetizers are served from 6 to 7 pm; games from 7-10 pm; And the silent auction from 10-11 pm
Promise hosts golf fundraising game
The Promise in Glen Rose will host its 12th annual Charity Golf Championship on Friday, May 6, at Squaw Valley Golf Course.
Registration begins at 8 am and departure is at 9 am
The cost is $95 per person or $350 for a team of four.
100% of the net proceeds from this tournament will go to The Promise Public Fund, to support this nonprofit ministry, now in a 33-year tradition at the Texas Amphitheater.

Barnard’s Mill for Traditional POW Wow
Last summer, the Barnard’s Mill and Art Museum hosted the Pow Wow tribute to the Comanche nation and the life of chief Quanah Parker. What started in that celebration and connection together in the community continues.
Barnard’s Mill and Art Museum once again hosts A Traditional Honor Pow Wow where they honor the past by bringing in the future. The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the Somervell County Exposition Center, 202 Bo Gibbs Blvd.
The traditional Pow Wow will honor the life of Juana Barnard, one of the original founders of Barnard’s Mill who helped establish what became Glen Rose and Somervell County and will bring the future as we come together and celebrate through the American Indian Dance and Intertribal.
There will also be vendors and local food.
Admission is $5 and is free for ages 10 and younger.

Dulcimer Festival set for this weekend
The Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival is set to take place this weekend in Oakdale Park.
The fun starts on Friday and runs through Sunday.
Admission to the Dulcimer Festival is free, and parking is $5.

Park hosts a painter with a guard
Dinosaur Valley State Park hosts Paint with a Ranger at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 8.

Scheduled rainwater harvesting program
The Last Drop is a rainwater harvesting program scheduled for Monday, May 16th. Program check-in opens at 5:30 p.m., and tutorial begins at 6 p.m. at Somervell County Citizens, 209 SW Barnard St.
Sinclaire Newby of the Prairielands Groundwater Conservancy will provide the educational component of the programme. Representatives from Somervell County Master Gardeners will give a demonstration on building your rainwater harvesting unit.
This program will be delivered while providing valuable information at a value of $15 per person and is open to all.
People present can expect detailed information to help develop a good game plan for rainwater harvesting options on their property. Expect a great learning environment where you are encouraged to ask questions. All of this contributes to providing another unique and valuable educational opportunity to interact with the speakers on our program and their topics.

The date of the gypsy hearts market show from May 13 to 15
Gypsy Hearts Market heads to Somervell County May 13-15 at the Somervell County Exposition Center.
Tickets $10 for Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; $10 on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; And $5 on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids 12 and younger go in for free.

A free gift will be given to the first 100 shoppers every day.
Spring Fling is set on May 14
Spring Fling is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, at the downtown plaza.
There will be live music from 4-7 p.m., and food, beverage and in-store sales.
