    When you walk around downtown Garland, you’ll likely notice some construction. The area is undergoing a major redesign to make it a better place to stroll, shop and eat. By the end of 2023, Garland’s downtown plaza and 14 surrounding streetscape blocks will be transformed into an entertainment hub, thanks to inviting patios, an amusement park/event, a new water feature, and an ideal treehouse for children.     Celebrate Thirsty Third Thursdays in downtown Garland on the third Thursday of the month from 5-8pm

    The arts have flourished in Garland with many culturally diverse organizations performing at the Granville Center for the Arts. Each year, the city of Garland offers a variety of fine arts experiences that attract patrons from across North Texas, including symphonic performances, musicals, ballets, theater plays, and concerts. Theaters are also available to rent for meetings and events.

Soon, residents and visitors can enjoy new water amenities, recreation center improvements, library makers’ spaces, and more walking/bike trails.
