High-performance commercial and residential audio manufacturer L-Acoustics will debut its new Soka woofer and subwoofer SB6i at ISE 2022 from May 10-13 in Barcelona, Spain.
The new products are available through the company’s L-Acoustics Creations brand, and the new products can be seen at their booth (#2R600). The French manufacturer notes that it has developed the products to meet the growing demand for immersive residential audio solutions.
L-Acoustics explains that Soka’s new shallow line source amplifiers draw from their Syva woofer through a combination of line source technologies and modern, sleek industrial designs.
Soka’s room-friendly subwoofer and SB6i are just 3.9 inches (99 mm) deep, and the products are designed to suit wall-mounted or wall-mounted applications.
Illustrating some of the engineering behind the new products, L-Acoustics says the new linear woofer features nine 3.5-inch mid-range drivers, along with three 1-inch high-frequency transducers that help the speaker provide 140 degrees of horizontal coverage and 26 degrees of coverage. Verticality to focus dispersal on listening areas rather than walls and ceilings.
“Colinear Soka’s source technology gives all the advantages of line source technology: high output, extended throw, and sharp blade control,” comments German Simon, Head of Product Marketing and Technology at L-Acoustics.

L-Acoustics says the SB6i uses a pair of 6.5-inch neodymium low-frequency drivers, as well as laminar venting technology, which are used in their concert sound-boosting speakers.
According to the company, the Soka is capable of producing SPL (sound pressure levels) up to 124 decibels, when accompanied by the SB6i.
Soka and SB6i provide more options for the integrator
L-Acoustics Creations notes that with the launch of these new products, they are providing merchants with a greater range of options to meet the needs of resident customers.
As the luxury home audio market grows by accepting technologies such as immersive audio and high-resolution audio, L-Acoustics says the integrators can tackle a range of installation scenarios from immersive home theater and high-performance two-channel stereo audio systems.
L-Acoustics says that homeowners can use Soka for a variety of activities such as meditation, fitness and wellness activities, to background music for entertainment or meditation purposes.

L-Acoustics Creations adds that the Soka’s back panel hosts speaker mounting points and speaker connections. The speaker can be wall-mounted in pan, tilt or pan/tilt direction, and both the IP55-rated Soka and SB6i are offered in a choice of dark gray and white.
Additionally, the company says it offers custom colors via the RAL program.
