When going to downtown Oshkosh in search of cafes, there are plenty to choose from, including recently opened cafes in the city center, a market elsewhere and a coffee shop.

The Elswhere Market and Coffee House is a common café for patrons to settle in with a cup of coffee and a mini market where different vendors sell a variety of products.

The market itself opened in December 2021, while the café opened in March 2022.

General Manager Jesse Tader tells how everyday life in the same place sees a variety of different people.

“Every day is different, you’ll see early birds come in for their daily cup of joe, while students study for final exams and work on projects together on a spiced lavender mocha latte,” Tader said.

In terms of the type of coffee served at the café, Tadder is excited to announce their special blend of coffee elsewhere.

“We just launched our very own coffee blend elsewhere! We’ve partnered with a Waupaka, Wisconsin roaster to create an everyday light-medium roaster blend that we believe will satisfy the masses,” said Tader.

A variety of drinks are available at the café, ranging from lattes and mochas to things like chai and matcha tea.

Besides, a variety of pastries are available on certain days of the week.

“In terms of pastries, we currently serve Thunderbird pastries from Wednesday to Saturday,” Tader said.

Thunderbird is a small local company that makes pastries, and Tadder enjoys helping other small businesses within their own business.

“It’s a little local business that we love — we try to support local businesses as much as we can, and they make some delicious things,” Tader said.

Besides having coffee, many go and wander to the other side where the market is located.
“Our market side of the business is a great place to shop for gifts, jewelry, ceramics, drugstores and specialty sweets,” Tader said. about the market. “

When entering the market side of the business, the market itself is filled with many different items to buy.
“A range of gifts including home décor, candles, handcrafted potpourri arrangements, ceramic dinnerware/cups/vases by University of Washington students, hand-picked jewelry, and a selection of horoscope-inspired perfumes… This is just a glimpse, Because we have said tader.

When asked about her favorite things, Tadder couldn’t decide because the market itself is filled with a wide assortment.

“No favorites here! “The whole place is kind of charming, and it makes you feel like you’re stepping into a different city,” Tader said.

The building is packed with many places besides the market just for people to go and enjoy the ambiance that Tader is talking about.

“This is an everyday place for some people drinking their daily coffee, and a destination shop for others to go to on the weekends,” Tader said, “We are fortunate to have such a beautiful building to create and share this vibe – we love it.”

Elswhere Market and Café is located at 531 N. Main St. It is open from 7 am to 5 pm from Monday to Sunday.
