Set over five floors, this unparalleled experience seamlessly fuses luxury home furnishing collections from RH contemporary, interior, modern and outdoor with rare artwork, antiques and antiques from around the world. Constructed in 1917 and designed in the Classical Revival style by prominent San Francisco architect Frederick H. Mayer, the historic building has been meticulously restored and re-imagined with great respect for its original vision. The colossal structure is proudly located at the corner of Illinois and 20y The streets, with elegant neoclassical architecture artistically refinished by famed Bay Area artist and color authority James Goodman. Entering through hand-forged iron gates decorated with intricate zigzag motifs and gilded acanthus leaves, guests pass through an intimate vestibule with tumbling wall fountains and antique urns that open onto a rare octagonal lobby with original rose-marble floors, cast stone walls, and meticulous precision. Architecturally combined to form a new center of the building, which guests will discover Palm Court Restauranta live-fire dining experience featuring a monolithic marble stovetop surrounded by a custom Moltene rotisserie from France.
Sitting under a dramatic lobby, this year-round escape from the sky evokes the charm of San Francisco’s Gilded Age – a stunning statement space featuring structural steelwork inspired by a former shipyard, towering Medjool palms and a tiered center fountain carved out of golden Calacatta marble.

Beneath each gallery suite extends from the lobby, two soaring Colorado white marble corridors bisect a classic room arrangement. Here, visitors will discover an entire floor dedicated to an exclusive preview of RH Contemporary ahead of its launch in the spring of 2022. The unprecedented collection reflects the brand’s sophisticated aesthetic in a minimalist design language that defines the moment, and occupies the space between RH Interiors and RH Modern, highlighting the work of famous designers around the world.
With a stunning oval corridor off the lobby, the original staircase provides access to the second level. Upon arrival, guests will discover RH . interior A tribute to the refined design through the ages. A new grand spiral staircase extends seamlessly from the original, connecting the third and fourth levels. Natural light streams from a circular skylight above two floors, while a magnificent thirteen-level Serenella chandelier suspended from its center point illuminates the road.
Formerly the studio of naval architects and master painters who designed some of the country’s most legendary ships, Level Three now hosts 10,000 square feet of open exhibition space against walls of matte lime plaster.
