The Vision AMG Show Car offers a glimpse into the future of all-electric Mercedes-AMG cars

Stuttgart, Germany – (work wire) – impressive proportions defined by a long wheelbase and accentuated by short overhangs, powerful shoulders, large wheels, distinctive rear spoiler and distinctive star-shaped headlights – the Vision AMG makes an emotional statement from every perspective. This exceptional Mercedes-AMG show car offers a glimpse into the all-electric future of AMG driving performance. Beneath the striking exterior of the four-door coupe is the exceptionally customized AMG.EA platform, which is currently being developed in Affalterbach for all-electric performance models.

“AMG is reinventing itself. As was the case with our founding fathers, there was a great sense of new beginnings here in Affalterbach some time ago. The course has been well prepared and real for an electric future, and we set high standards. This is because our customers expect something very special from All-electric cars.We have already well proven our expertise in this regard and really proven our expertise in this regard with the SLS AMG Electric Drive, our proprietary E PERFORMANCE Hybrid technology and the first Mercedes-EQ derivatives. With this study, we now provide a first glimpse into how acid is transported AMG nuclear to the all-electric future, starting in 2025. Jordan and his team point the way from a visual perspective with this exceptional design. At AMG, we’ve always championed that extra shot of emotion, driving pleasure, handling, innovative aerodynamic features and other innovative solutions. And that’s What we continue to stick to with our first BEV is fully developed in Affalterbach. We are developing everything from scratch, from the custom AMG.EA platform to the revolutionary propulsion technology with which we will transport our mobility. high-performance electric to a whole new level,” says Philip Schimmer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

“Vision AMG demonstrates in stunning style what electric Mercedes-AMG could look like, while maintaining the brand’s aesthetic. The study’s extreme proportions create fascination and a passion for performance – and that is what AMG is all about. The Vision AMG is a great embodiment of the brand’s dual polarity – interaction. At the same time, elements of the future, such as signatures of light with the high-tech luminous grille, emphasize the gradual evolution of our design language of sensual purity,” said Jordan Wagner, Chief Design Officer at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “With its contrasting modern surface and radical proportions, this vehicle showcases the next design step, building on the VISION EQXX and moving towards luxury performance. The seamless flow of beautifully shaped surfaces and the coherent sculpting complement the Vision AMG’s powerful aesthetic. The result is an electric supercar, a symbol of elegance that inspires Desire – that’s exactly what defines the luxury sports car.”

    Monolithic sculpture and radical proportions

The concept car has beautifully shaped, flowing surfaces. Links and shutter lines are kept to a minimum, and the rear and side windows are painted the same Alubeam Silver color as the car itself. The result is an overall look that enhances the impression of a sculpted statue.

Particularly sporty proportions are manifested from the side, and are determined by the technical design – a long wheelbase, a steep A-pillar positioned forward, a shorter and slightly longer front suspension, an aerodynamically optimized rear suspension. It clearly expresses the design language of sensual purity with distinctive sports car cues such as the wide wheel arches and strong, muscular shoulders at the rear.

The elegant greenhouse is integrated into the overall flowing shape and blends seamlessly into the low silhouette. The roof tapers as its line gracefully dips toward the rear, and flows directly into the rear spoiler. The overall effect is a visually impressive and aerodynamically advantageous teardrop shape, not unlike that of the VISION EQXX. The sensual surface and strongly defined sculpting represent the distinctive design language of Mercedes. Likewise, the brand’s aspiration for the extraordinary is achieved through drastic proportions and a sharply chiseled shark nose. The Vision AMG is a perfect example of the dual polarity of the brand’s design approach that embraces “beauty and the exceptional”.

The sharply angled aft rim includes an active spoiler that lengthens side visibility while simultaneously improving aerodynamics. It is surrounded by a precisely cut light band that accommodates a variety of different lighting fixtures, providing an effective contrast to the large black AMG logo on the rear of the car.

    Breathtaking technology for outstanding performance

The Vision AMG technology pays homage to the impressive design in many ways. All components of the drivetrain were entirely developed from scratch: not only the AMG.EA platform itself, but also the high-performance custom high-voltage battery and revolutionary driving technology. The heart of the powerful Vision AMG is the innovative Axial Flux engine developed by YASA wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz. Thanks to its compact and lightweight design, it provides much more power than conventional electric motors.

Closed AMG grille with light bars

The AMG-specific grille with vertical bars is retained as a hallmark of the brand – despite the fact that the all-electric drivetrain does not require a classic radiator up front. So the high-tech development of the grille was closed, painted in body color and completely integrated into the front end. As a visual focal point, the grille emphasizes the futuristic look of the Vision AMG with its light-up bars and 3D contour. The three-pointed star is prominently placed on the bonnet – as on the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE.

    Unusual star-shaped fingerprint

The signature of the headlights light points directly into the future. Three LED elements make up a stylized three-dimensional Mercedes star, ensuring that the Mercedes and AMG badges appear instantly and unmistakably day and night. The headlights are visually connected via a horizontal strip of light above the grille. This light strip can display a variety of animations – from a welcome signature to a steady light.

The round lights at the back have a new and familiar light design. On each side, three LED rings are placed in cylindrical tubes. Here, too, the little stars make a nod to the Mercedes brand. By contrast, the expressive rear diffuser is painted a deep black.

Connecting to Formula 1 through shape and color signals

The direct link to the successful Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team is illustrated in more visual detail. These include silver paintwork with an oversized star pattern across the shoulders and rear fenders, exposed carbon-fibre functional elements, aerodynamic styling of the 22-inch wheels with aerodynamic livery, AMG badge and sill and diffuser elements. Petronas colours.

Smooth, sporty high-tech design and impressive proportions give the Vision AMG a futuristic feel. The four-door configuration also demonstrates that the show car offers a taste of an all-electric sports car of the future. Despite the battery pack located in the car’s floor between the axles, the study is located much lower than the EQS and thanks to the cleverly designed interior floor, provides plenty of room for four.
