This Fitness Metaverse Trades In The Sweat For Cryptocurrency And Nfts

Did you know that staying healthy can also make you rich? While it might sound hard to believe, a company called OliveX is building a fitness metaverse, where you can earn cryptocurrencies and other rewards like Non-Fungible-Tokens (NFTs) just by exercising. It aims to provide people with an incentive to stay in shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

To start earning cryptocurrency, people only need a smartphone with OliveX’s blockchain-based Dustland Runner game. The adventure game requires users to run, run or run for varying distances in the real world. In return, users will be rewarded with the game’s original currency – DOSE – a token for payment and utility.

These virtual rewards can be collected and used to level up, unlock in-game items, and participate in special modes and events. Users can also trade their DOSE tokens on crypto exchanges and NFT Markets.

The game places users in a post-apocalyptic desert. Here, they play the Dust Racers and are tasked with retrieving and then delivering mysterious packages of contraband while avoiding bandits and monsters.

Dustland Runner uses the game engine “Zombie, Run!” Acquired by OliveX for $9.5 million in March 2021. Zombie Run launched in 2012! It is said that the average number of monthly active users is 300,000, of which 50,000 are paid subscribers.

OliveX is also planning to launch another blockchain-based game called Dustland Rider. It will follow the same principles as the Dustland Runner, except that it is intended for cycling and uses the Sol Cycle game engine. Dust Rider is slated to launch in June of this year.

OliveX CEO and founder Keith Romgan called these fitness platforms “Move-To-Earn” games. While speaking to Forbes, Roman described them as “game changers.” He stated, “Our goal is to get a billion people involved, and as part of that, I want them to earn their first NFT coins and crypto tokens through exercise.

The vision and future of OliveX

Rumjahn believes that OliveX is on the right track and is determined to invest in the growing sectors of gaming, exercise and blockchain. To achieve its goals, the company wants to create a metaverse that is completely open and interoperable by collaborating with strategic partners such as Animoca Brands, according to its website.

Animoca Brands is the company behind Sandbox, which is currently the third largest metaverse by market capitalization. OliveX is already creating a virtual space in the Sandbox metaverse. This will enhance the interoperability of tokens and NFTs earned on Dustland Runner.

Through this association, OliveX is also looking to partner with several fitness brands such as Playinnovation, Gym Aesthetics and Trib3 and aims to help them integrate with the Sandbox metaverse.

The company raised $5.7 million from investors in 2021 to build the Dustland Runner. Since then, it has won a lot of praise from critics and managed to double its market value in a short period while also reducing its losses. At the time of writing, the DOSE token was trading at $0.1445, up 1.14 percent in the past 24 hours, with a market cap of $7.5 million.
