Travel restrictions ease but disabled passengers still have problems in the sky

    (CNN) – Across the world, restrictions on vaccinated travelers are being relaxed, and more and more people will be moving around soon. But with more traffic, airlines are keen to put an end to bad behavior in the skies.

    Here’s what happened in travel this week.

    Latest reopenings

    Australia will open its doors to vaccinated international travelers in late February, and India is easing testing and quarantine rules.
    In Europe, Greece, Portugal and the UK are all making plans to relax testing requirements for fully vaccinated or recently boosted people.
    Travelers heading to Hawaii won’t need reinforcements to be considered fully fortified, and the sunny islands of Aruba and Bermuda make entry easier.
    Despite all this, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now has nearly 135 destinations in the riskiest travel advisory category.

    This is because it is based on Covid case numbers. And while Omicron is spreading across the world, many governments have decided that international travel restrictions are not a solution to its spread.

    Big problem in small cabins

    To paraphrase Samuel L. Jackson, Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian has struggled with these unruly passengers aboard these capsized planes. He has been calling for a no-fly list of violators, and the US Department of Justice has responded.
    Southwest Airlines is returning alcohol on planes for the first time since March 2020, a move the flight attendants union says is “unsafe and irresponsible”. Both United and Delta resumed some economy-class alcohol sales last year, but American Airlines is holding out.
