    Daytona Beach pools

    The City of Daytona Beach offers pool access at Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. , and Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd.

    Cypresses swim from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for age 17 and younger.

    Campbell Aquatic Center is temporarily closed to re-deck the two pools and install a new motorized pump.

    Children 5 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a parent or responsible supervisor who is at least 16 years old in the water. For more information, call (386) 671-8392 or visit codb.us/pools/.

    Nova community center

    Nova Community Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5:30 p.m. on Sunday at 440 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

    Pickles and basketball are served Monday through Saturday. You play basketball on Sunday.

    Reservations are necessary. The cost is free for residents or $4 per day for an annual membership for non-residents.

    South Ormond District Center

    The South Ormond neighborhood center is open 1-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday at 176 Division Ave. , Ormond Beach.

    The center contains baseball and basketball courts. The tennis courts are closed as the center has been renovated.

    Ormond Beach Tennis Center

    The Ormond Beach Tennis Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday at 38 E. Granada Blvd.

    It offers play to members and non-members, and classes seven days a week.

    YSG Community Center

    Kung-fu and Tai-Chi lessons are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at the Yvonne Scarlett Gold Cultural and Educational Center, 1000 Vine Street, Daytona Beach. The fee is $40 per month.

    The gym is open to Daytona Beach residents to play basketball from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and 2-8 p.m. Thursdays at the center.

    Dickerson Center

    Daytona Beach residents can feel the burn with cardio kickboxing at the Dickerson Center at 308 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

    Classes are offered for adults from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 5 to 6 p.m. for youth ages 5 to 17. Each session is $5 per person.

    Grown Folks Basketball will meet from 6-8pm every Thursday at the Midtown Cultural and Educational Center at 925 George W. Engram Blvd.

    Men aged 40 or over are welcome to play and view some games. Submission is free.

    yoga on show

    Yoga will be on show from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 at the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.

    Meet in the hallway. The class is open to all levels of experience. Participants must bring a mat, towel and water. Space is limited and registration is required. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

    Axis on the channel

    The Hub on Canal offers fitness classes at 132 Canal Street, New Smyrna Beach.

    Yogalates meet with Becky Collins from 9:25 to 10:25 a.m. every Tuesday, focusing on strengthening the body.

    A gentle yoga class will meet with Becky Collins from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays. Beginners welcome.

    Music ‘n Move It with Alexandria Sietz will meet from 4-5pm every Thursday. A fun, low-impact class that incorporates tai chi (slow) movements, laughter yoga and breathing techniques. Open to all fitness levels. No special equipment needed. The fee is $10 per class. Limited registration 9.

    Senior fitness class

    Seniors fitness class meets at 10:3 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive.

    The class will focus on cardio, strength, and balance. Handheld weights, resistance bands, and a ball will be used. All equipment is provided. Participants must bring a bottle of water.

    chair yoga classes

    Chair yoga classes are offered from 4:30-5:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Daytona Beach Shores Community Center at 3000 Bellemead Drive.

    The class is for those who will practice sitting and standing positions using a support chair to help improve balance, posture, energy, breathing, strength, flexibility and relaxation.

    The center also offers gentle yoga classes from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with floor to standing poses. The yoga classes are taught by Mardi Williams, a certified yoga teacher.

    The cost is $8. Residency and membership in Daytona Beach Shores is not required.

    Gateway Center for the Arts will host Vinyas Flow Yoga Classes at 6:30 PM on Tuesdays and 11 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 880 NUS 17/92, DeBary.

    Tuesdays are Vinyasa Flow, which is a flow of movements using breath to connect with the body. Build strength and stability, detoxify the body.

    Thursdays are Gentle Vinyasa Flow which targets gentle, slow movement, breathing action and flexibility.
