Marketing Evaluations, Inc. is the company behind Q Score. They maintain several databases of official scores for living and deceased celebrities. The company sends out ongoing surveys based on national samples to members of the public to collect primary data. Respondents must choose whether they have heard of a celebrity first before rating them on a scale indicating their preference or lack of it.
Dividing the number of people who identify with a particular celebrity by the number of people who consider that celebrity their absolute favorite results in a Q score. A high positive Q score is a nice thing, while a low Q score means a celebrity has lost their place among the Fans, Grunge explains.
Do celebrities with higher Q points make more money?
The short answer is certain. Celebrities with great Q-scores and growing fan following are more likely to make deals with advertisers as spokespersons for a product or service. From music industry tycoons to movie stars, the more admired a star is, the more attractive he will be for lucrative deals.
Q Score ratings are now beginning to expand to include reality stars and YouTube influencers as well. So, for online celebrities, popularity translates to increased navigator. Currently, influencers’ Q scores aren’t as high as TV, music, or movies.
Variety says that even YouTubers with the highest scores can’t touch dozens of movie stars. But the great Q scores lead to bigger payouts for these online superstars.

Dr. Mehmet Oz used to get great Q-scores as one of America’s favorite on-screen doctors. Then, in his pursuit of political leadership, his grade slipped a few notches.
When a group of doctors wrote to Columbia University about what they called “quack cures,” Dr. Oz’s Q-score dropped. And Bill Cosby, at one point, only had a 9% negative opinion. By 2015, in view of his accused behavior, he disliked more than half of the respondents.
