“A tongue flick is still seen as a blunt and daring gesture, and closing the tongues in this way makes the couple look hot,” Jodi said.

Jodi noted that older celebrities are more likely to use it as a tactic than teens would expect of them.

“In terms of branding, it creates a sharp, shocking, rebellious look which is also often seen as a kind of body language glow for celebrities who may sometimes wave goodbye to their younger years,” she explained. “They want to look like the eternal teens as well as affirm their continual desire.”

Like so many things in Hollywood, the expert added, there is little left to chance, and these lustful kisses are “as carefully tailored as any strict routine.”

“They can even repeat the kiss a few times as they make their way onto the carpet and you can often hear little cheers from the press and PR when they get their money,” Jody added.
