CB2, the designer home destination, has launched its latest collection in partnership with Los Angeles-based brand Lawson Vining. Drawing on the rich history of California design and the region’s wealth of natural materials, founders Glenn Lawson and Grant Vining designed versatile and timeless pieces that invite the fluidity between indoor and outdoor living.

Each piece in the collection – spanning both indoor and outdoor living and dining along with desk, bedding, lighting, tabletop and décor – has been carefully reduced to its essential elements, exposing the joinery and accentuating the finishes and allowing the simplicity of the materials and purity of craftsmanship to make a statement. The result is a selection of carefully designed pieces that evoke both the stunning landscape and the clean lines of modern architecture.
“Our CB2 collection is an expression of our love of California living and a tribute to the quality and craftsmanship of California furniture and the California aesthetics of the ’60s and ’70s,” said Glenn Lawson. “The collection is a continuation of the design practices we have honed over the past 20 years. This is the purest expression of our collection,” added Grant Vining.
The collection’s color palette has been pulled from topographical aerial photography of the California coast and focuses on earth tones and landscape colors. Over 50 unique products feature the CB2 Collection’s Lawson-Fenning Collection, which includes six custom-made upholstery selections.
Highlights include:
indoor/outdoor living – The collection embraces the fluidity of indoor/outdoor living with pieces like the Seahaven Sofa and Lounge Chairs, with their unique proportions and capacity not often seen in outdoor furniture.
Fine dining and server equipment – Half Moon Dining Chair and Stolls Counter Stools are paired with upscale materials – like FSC certified black American Walnut with channel-tufted cotton upholstery and stunning brass detailing – resulting in an effortlessly luxurious feel. Pair it with the new Sojourn Oat dinnerware from the collection to perfectly complement the setting.
Organic Elements – Organic forms and natural elements form the basis of this collection. The flowing silhouettes of the Muir curved sofa and swivel chair are directly inspired by the terrain of Southern California. Likewise, the El Verano travertine coffee table sculpts a solid into a soft, organic form.
Detailed construction – Delicate, handcrafted execution is displayed in pieces such as the Ventura Notched Bookshelf which features slides made of FSC® certified white oak, the Point Dume game table and chess set that uses staggered joinery to further define FSC® certified mahogany and walnut.
Limited Edition Todd Magill Painting – For the art in this collection, Lawson-Fenning reached out to Todd Magill, menswear designer and friend. Magill’s use of strong, uninhibited tones rooted in geometric abstraction also evokes a ’60s aesthetic of muted, bold color and clean lines—which blend seamlessly with cross-collaboration pieces.
