    Evening Flower Walk: 7-8:30 p.m. May 6, Slippery Rock Nature Area, West Park Road, Moraine State Park. Visit a lesser known part of Moraine State Park dedicated to preserving some unique plant habitats. Hike for a mile or less, learning about wildflowers along the way. About five miles north of the bike rental on West Park Road.

    Mother’s Day Weekend Brunch: 9-11 a.m. May 7, Hell’s Hollow Car Park, McConnells Mill State Park. Learn how to cook quiche outside in charcoal and Dutch oven. Next, go on a guided walk of wildflowers with an additional view of Hell’s Hollow Falls. Bring your own drink. Wear sturdy, weather-appropriate clothing and shoes. Pre-registration is required.     HIKE RIDGE RIDGE SHORELINE HIKE: 1-4 p.m. May 7, meets at 528 Launch, Moraine State Park. Stroll among the evergreen on the lake, through the ancient foundations built by the farm families who owned this land and cross the backbone of a hill left behind by a mighty glacier. Approximately 2.5 miles on moderate terrain. Dress appropriately for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and snacks for the trail.

    Hidden river oar: 1-3 p.m. May 10 McDanel (North Beach) launch, Moraine State Park. Enjoy a beginner kayak paddle to explore the wildlife of Lake Arthur. Participants will learn some basic tips about kayak. Ages must be 12 years and over, and under 18 years old accompanied by an adult. Kayaks and equipment are provided, or bring your own.     WARBLER WALK: 8 a.m. to noon May 14, non-motorized launch area in Pleasant Valley (South Shore), Moraine State Park. Birding with Moraine State Park staff and members of the Bartramian Audubon Society. You can walk the different sections of the Sunken Garden Trail for all the birds, but with the main goal of finding as many critic birds as possible. We welcome all skill levels. Bring binoculars, if you have them, with water and snacks.
