Documentary series on Hollywood robbery dives into celebrity home burglaries

    On April 25, Channel 4 was broadcast in the UK Bling Ring: Hollywood Robbery, a true crime documentary series about a gang of Calabasas teens who robbed the homes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, and other stars between 2008 and 2009, stealing nearly $3 million in cash and property, mostly belonging to Hilton, Although they targeted about 50 homes.     Before the recent documentary on the Bling Ring, other films depicted crimes. In 2011, the Neiers, whose name was changed to Maddie Bishop and played by Spencer Locke, and other members of the group were immortalized in a lifelong TV movie, studded ring. The film also had Jennifer Gray in a supporting role. Then, in 2013, there was another movie adaptation titled Too studded ringWritten by Sofia Coppola, the character of Near is named Nikki Moore and played by Emma Watson.     In a 2021 interview, one of the victims, Bilson, vividly remembers one detail of the abuse. The actress’s home is one of the homes that the group has hit on more than one occasion, as she robbed Bilson five times, and on one occasion when the thieves were inside the house, they claimed they used her bathroom.
