On April 25, Channel 4 was broadcast in the UK Bling Ring: Hollywood Robbery, a true crime documentary series about a gang of Calabasas teens who robbed the homes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, and other stars between 2008 and 2009, stealing nearly $3 million in cash and property, mostly belonging to Hilton, Although they targeted about 50 homes. According to RadioTimes.com, which has reported on the three-part series, the Channel 4 documentary features interviews with two Bling Ring members: Nick Prugo and Alexis Neiers, who now goes to Alexis Haines. But who is Alexis? And why do people still care about this story ten years later?
Neiers is the daughter of Mikel Neiers, the director of photography for the NBC sitcom friendsand former Playboy model Andrea. Neers began pursuing a career in acting and modeling alongside her unceremoniously adopted sister, Tess Taylor, at age 16, telling MP that the profession should “go on”. [her] Usually drugs. In court, she pleaded no objection, and in addition to the $600,000 in compensation, was sentenced to 180 days in prison – which she served alongside Bling Ring victim Lohan – and three years of probation.
Due to prison/jail overcrowding, Neers has served one month of her six-month sentence. Upon her release, she suffered from bad heroin addiction and was arrested again at the age of 19 for possession and then put into rehab where she obtained a certified alcohol and substance abuse counselor and became a drug and alcohol counselor in recover from reality.

Before the recent documentary on the Bling Ring, other films depicted crimes. In 2011, the Neiers, whose name was changed to Maddie Bishop and played by Spencer Locke, and other members of the group were immortalized in a lifelong TV movie, studded ring. The film also had Jennifer Gray in a supporting role. Then, in 2013, there was another movie adaptation titled Too studded ringWritten by Sofia Coppola, the character of Near is named Nikki Moore and played by Emma Watson. Not only is the detective who worked on the Bling Ring case under investigation to consult on the Coppola movie, but one of Ring’s real-life victims also appeared: Hilton.
In a 2021 interview, one of the victims, Bilson, vividly remembers one detail of the abuse. The actress’s home is one of the homes that the group has hit on more than one occasion, as she robbed Bilson five times, and on one occasion when the thieves were inside the house, they claimed they used her bathroom. You know, it was kind of crazy at the time. I think they walked into my house five different times and took everything, and even one girl gave an interview. She was like, “I felt so comfortable going into her house, and I took a shower!” I was like, this is way more intrusive than stealing my wallets [laughs]. But yeah, you know, they were young, and hopefully others have learned, too. Who knows. I mean, that’s all you could wish for at this point.
In a 2013 book by Nancy Jo Sales The dazzling episode: How a group of teens obsessed with fame uprooted Hollywood and shocked the worldBrogo was quoted as saying, “We were at Rachel’s house [Bilson’s] Bathroom, Rachel [Lee] She just had to go, so she just… yeah. I remember the incident well. I can remember the smell, and it’s really unpleasant and disgusting.”
