It seems that after more than two years of funky festivities, weddings are preparing to return in full swing, with plenty of celebrities walking down the aisle this year.
Stars like Kourtney Kardashian, Josephine Skriver, Nicola Peltz and Billie Lourd have been among those throwing festivities in 2022 so far, gathering their closest friends, family and other celebrities for their wedding.
While many celebrities, such as Ariana Grande, Gwen Stefani, and Issa Ray, flocked to the classic Vera Wang bridal operator in 2021, this year saw a number of different designers create custom wedding dresses, such as Rodarte, Valentino, Versace, and more.

Brittany Matthews
Brittany Matthews kicked off this year’s celebrity wedding list when she married NFL star Patrick Mahomes, her high school sweetheart, on March 12 in Maui, Hawaii, where the bride wore a custom Versace gown.
Matthews worked on the dress with celebrity designer Mimi Cattrell as well as the brand’s creative director, Donatella Versace. The look featured a corset top with an open design, crystal detailing, and a long train and bustle in the back. The bride also wore a long veil of tulle that suited her.
Billy Lord
Billie Lourd, the only daughter of the late actress Carrie Fisher, married Austin Riddle on March 12 in an intimate ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The actress wore a custom Rodarte ethereal dress, designed by founding sisters Kate and Laura Mulvey. The look was a white off-the-shoulder tulle dress with a sweetheart neckline and glittering throughout.
Lourdes styled her hair in half in an elaborate braid and wore a white tulle veil By long train.
Josephine Skriver
After nearly a decade together, Josephine Skriver and Alexandre DeLeon, better known as Bohns, tied the knot at the Acre Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on April 3.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel looked to Alberta Ferretti for her wedding dress. Ferretti created a white maxi dress covered in lace detailing with an embroidered lace trail to match. Skriver also wore Logan Holwell jewelry.
In May, Skriver and DeLeon held another party, this time on the 50-yard line from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders football team. The model wore a silk mini dress by Danielle Gizio and black and white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.
Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Parker surprised many when they chose to spontaneously marry hours after the 2022 Grammy Awards wrapped up at the iconic One Love Wedding Church in Las Vegas, with an Elvis Presley impersonator to lead. They reportedly married around 2 a.m. on April 4.
The Poosh founder, wearing a vintage Versace piece, was a yellow strapless top with an embellished cross at the center, from his Fall 2012 collection. Both Kardashian and Parker wore leather jackets and matching sunglasses.
However, the wedding was not official as the couple did not obtain a marriage license prior to the ceremony.
On May 15, the couple had an official wedding (after obtaining a license) which took place at a courthouse in downtown Santa Barbara, California. The ceremony was reportedly very intimate, with only Kardashian’s maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Campbell, and Parker’s father, Randy Parker, to witness the nuptials.
Unlike most traditional brides, the Kardashian older sister wore a short white lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana, with a heart-shaped applique at the center, and a veil with matching sleeves.
The reality star confirmed the wedding when she posted a slew of black and white photos on her official Instagram page with the caption: “Until death do us part.”
Nicholas Peltz
Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham had one of the most lavish and star-studded weddings of the year so far, exchanging their vows on April 9 in lavish Peltz’s Palm Beach, Florida, in front of nearly 600 guests.
Peltz, daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Hefner, wore a custom Valentino wedding dress, designed by her creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Piccioli created the dress with a square neckline, with a more fitted silhouette to accentuate the waist and a long tail. The lace veil was the same length as the dress and Peltz wore gloves of the same fabric to match. She topped the look with white Versace pumps.
The actress is known to work closely with Piccioli, and has worn his designs for the past year as well as this year’s Met Gala events.
Paulina Gretsky
Paulina Gretzky and professional golfer Dustin Johnson held the knot on April 23 at Blackberry Farm, a luxury hotel and resort, in Walland, Tenn.
Daughter of ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky and actress Janet Jones, Gretsky wore a special Vera Wang look. The dress was a hand-embroidered light ivory crystal sheer gown with a plunging neckline and back. Wang also revealed on Instagram that the dress was covered in 100,000 Swarovski crystals and tiny glass pearls.
She wore her blonde hair in loose waves, and had the makeup of Mario Dedivanovic, who is known to be the makeup artist for Kim Kardashian.
Chloe Sevigny
Chloë Sevigny and Siniša Mačković officially celebrated their second marriage on May 14 in a private ceremony in Connecticut. The couple first held the knot in 2020, days before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown began, in a New York City courthouse.
The award-winning actress wore a Jean Paul Gaultier wedding dress, designed by her creative director Glenn Martins, from the Spring 2022 Couture collection. With an unconventional and sophisticated look of traditional wedding dresses, the look was sheer throughout the ruffled wedding dress, designed with ruffled sleeves and a bodice. It descends into an elegant skirt with a slit at the thigh.
Throughout the day of the festivities, Sevigny also wore wedding looks from Loewe, designed by Jonathan Anderson, and Mugler, by Casey Cadwallader.
