Sennheiser unveils new wireless sports headphones for fitness enthusiasts

Sennheiser is probably one of the most popular names in headphone and earbud technology and has a reputation for producing some excellent products that appeal to audio enthusiasts as well as casual consumers.

The company’s latest product launched is a brand new pair of sport earbuds designed for people who lead an active lifestyle. Sennheiser Sport True Wireless claims to deliver superior audio performance for fitness enthusiasts and athletes, no matter how hard they exercise.

Featuring a unique adaptive audio feature, the Sport True Wireless model offers a choice of open and closed ear adapters, allowing athletes to customize their listening experience according to their sport. And with a secure, customizable fit, the Sport True Wireless can handle even the busiest of challenges.

The Sport True Wireless earbuds use Sennheiser’s TrueResponse power adapter. This is the same dynamic driver used in Sennheiser’s flagship IE900 wired earbuds. The 7mm motors are designed and engineered in Germany. They have great bass and superior clarity in the middle and treble, without distortion, even at high volume levels.

With its Adaptable Acoustic feature, the Sennheiser Sport True Wireless gives athletes control over how they experience outside sounds and perceive their surroundings. The user can choose between open or closed ear transducers to allow sounds to reach the listener’s ear. There is also a customizable EQ setting for individual audio profiles.

Open ear transducers combined with Aware EQ settings help reduce body noise and enable some external sounds to enter the listener’s ears so the user is more aware of their surroundings. For example, runners can choose to hear fewer distracting sounds like their heartbeat or footsteps and more things around them, and mix their favorite playlist with the sounds of nature or city to improve awareness. Those who prefer listening to their music in noisy gyms, and who don’t want to be distracted by a crowded environment, may prefer the closed-ear adapter and Focus EQ settings.

In addition to the Focus and Aware EQ settings for the Sennheiser Smart Control app, athletes can make fully customizable presets using the Sound Check feature. Touch controls on each earbud allow the user to customize the earbuds’ sound to suit their preferences and give access to voice navigation and voice aids.

The earbuds use the latest Bluetooth 5.2 wireless technology and there is built-in support for audio codecs like SBC, AAC, and aptX to make it easier to stay connected to mobile devices, smartwatches and smart TVs, as well as connected fitness devices.

Sennheiser says the ergonomic design of the Sport True Wireless was developed to feel as comfortable as possible when exercising. The earbuds can be further customized with a choice of ear tips in three sizes and there are four different ear fins to choose from. With an IP54 rating, the earbuds are dust and splash resistant and can withstand a sweat, run in the rain, or work out at the beach. The Sport True Wireless has up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge, plus another 18 hours of juice reserve in the earbuds charging case.

Pricing and Availability: The Sennheiser Sport True Wireless earbuds can be pre-ordered now and will begin shipping on 3 May 2022 for $129.99 / £119.99 / €129.90.
