The series dedicates an entire workout playlist to one artist, and this week, users can dance to ABBA, sweat BTS to a HIIT workout, or do Queen’s strength workout. Every Monday for four weeks, new workouts will appear for each Fitness+ artist across different types of exercise, including Strength, HIIT, Dance, Treadmill, Cycling, Yoga and Pilates. Inspired by these Fitness + workouts, Apple Music and Apple One subscribers can enjoy the Fitness + Spotlight series, which features a unique playlist of each individual musician from the Artist Spotlight, including high-energy motivational tracks from their entire catalogs, as well as collaborations and remixes of Keeping people moving outside of Fitness + exercises.
dance
Globally, dancing is one of the most popular and enjoyable ways to stay active. It is also a type of exercise on the Apple Watch with an algorithm that can capture accurate calorie effort even with the unique challenges of measuring body movements to the different arm typical with dancing, and it has been a major type of exercise for Fitness+ since its launch. Starting April 25th, Fitness+ celebrates dancing all week long.
Fitness + trainer Ben Allen will participate in the first-ever dance workout session on BTS music. The movements in this exercise are taken directly from the choreography of BTS videos. Songs include “Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion),” “Dynamite,” “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey),” “DNA,” “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix),” “Permission to Dance,” and Life continues.” Also that week, LaShawn Jones’s Dance exercise will inspire users to move to songs that bring a sense of joy, and Jhon Gonzalez will invite users to dance to tracks that celebrate traditional and powerful rhythms from various genres, including cumbia, tango and Indian pop.
On International Dance Day, Apple Watch users around the world are encouraged to find time to have fun, and can win a limited-edition prize and animated message stickers for completing any dance workout of 20 minutes or more. Fitness+ will feature a special section of Dance Workouts to help subscribers win the prize, including six 20-minute workouts across Latin Grooves, Upbeat Anthems, Throwback Hits, and Hip-Hop/R&B playlists.
Fitness+ is also unveiling a new workout set on April 25 designed to entice subscribers to dance any day of the year. Getting into Groove with Dance starts with three 20-minute workouts from each trainer from Fitness + Dance instructors to Stepping into the Dance Floor. Participants will gain confidence with short routines before progressing to a Take Center Stage with three 30-minute performance-based workouts. Rehearsals include 80s classics, hip-hop, and Latin music from around the world. The kits, introduced in January, are a series of workouts and meditations from an organized Fitness + library to help users achieve their goals.
In addition to all the new dance content coming to Fitness+ in April, there are already plenty of ways for subscribers of all ages and skill levels to get into dancing, from a program for beginners to workouts for seniors.
