PLUS releases Hari Raya 2022 travel time guidelines – follow balik kampung TTA to get home early

PLUS issued a file 2022 Balik Kampung and Pulang Ke Bandar Travel Time Advisory (TTA) in conjunction with the holiday season of Hari Raya Idelvetri, which is just around the corner now. TTA is for North-South Highway users from April 29 through May 9, the peak travel period.

The purpose of the TTA is to distribute and circumvent convergence of traffic entering the highway at the same time over major highway stretches, toll lanes, and rest areas, thus reducing congestion. Designed based on the previous holiday season and long weekend travel patterns. This banner is going to be big, and PLUS expects to have 2 million cars a day in the NSE during the banner period.

“As this is the first time after two years of the motion control order that we Malaysians are allowed to return to our loved ones to celebrate Raya Aidilfitri, we are expecting around 2 million vehicles, which is a 25% increase compared to the current day. 1.6 million vehicles are on our route. Express. Therefore, please anticipate congestion and possibly the length of your travels.Highway customers are strongly encouraged and advised to stick to the TTA schedule in the meantime. Balik Kampong And Pulang Ke Bandar Trips,” said PLUS Operations Director Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.

Here is the TTA. to me Balik Kampong Excursion from Klang Valley (April 29 to May 2), those heading towards other destinations such as Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak (North) and Johor are advised to enter the motorway before 10 am. Meanwhile, those heading towards closer locations or to other states are advised to enter the highway after 1pm – lunch first.

For the return trip to Klang Valley (5-9 May), those coming from Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak (North), Johor and other states are advised to enter the highway before 9 am. “Based on our studies, for a return trip to the Klang Valley, highway customers can expect longer highway travel time if they choose not to stick to the TTA schedule,” Zakaria said.

“Based on simulating the festive season traffic pattern, highway customers north to the Klang Valley may experience an extended travel time of up to 10 hours, or twice the average travel time, if they enter the highway after 9 a.m. Meanwhile, The travel time from the south to the Klang Valley may be up to seven hours or twice as long if they enter the highway after nine in the morning.”

For its part, PLUS will place 1,500 customer service assistants on 1,100 highway lanes to help solve problems, such as payment. The company is also deploying a Headquarters Reserve Team to strategic locations and using RELA officers to help manage traffic. On our part, motorists should remember to use the same payment mode lane you used when coming in – RFID in RFID.

Earlier, PLUS said it will create streaming lanes and boost the number of PLUSRonda League teams throughout the peak period. Vehicles that break down or get involved in accidents are a major cause of congestion, and PLUS’ plan is to remove these vehicles as soon as possible — the company will place trucks and cranes in critical locations to speed up the removal of stranded vehicles, especially in climbing areas. Heavy and slow trucks are banned during the festive period.

The NSE franchisor advises highway customers to comply with traffic rules, drive wisely, and ensure vehicles are in good condition. In addition to the TTA, use the PLUS app, Waze or Google Maps to plan a better trip. And before you succumb to the temptation to “save time” and break laws, remember that JPJ has an army of Mata armed with phone cameras.
