Real Estate and Society News (March/April 2022) with Jane Avery, REALTOR – The Royal Examiner

The House of Hope is pleased to present the Empty Bowl dinner again this year as a “turn-key” event. It will host Honey & Hops Brew Works (212 E Main Street, Front Royal VA). Table tickets, bowls, and soups will be available inside the Honey & Hops on the day of the event. After collecting the bowl and soups, please come down to the gazebo to enjoy everyone’s favorite Country/Folk/Bluegrass band, Passage Creek Rising!

soups

The soup menu isn’t complete, but our favorite girl, Mary Ann Bigs, strives to gather commitments from our delicious local restaurants. We’ll be sure to share the soup menu as soon as it’s ready. If you are a company reading this story and would like to donate soup to our cause, please reach out and let us know! Email: [email protected].

bowls

As many of you know, there are two parts to this fundraising campaign. 1- The same event on April 30th. We all gather to pick out our favorite hand-painted ceramic bowl and choose two “ready” soups. 2. The bowl of the board leading to the event. The community is working with Arline Link at Explore Art & Clay (501 E Main Street, Front Royal VA) to paint the bowls you throw at us. This is a very useful free activity with Arline. If you’re interested in helping paint some dishes with your family, your friends (girls night out), or your business (team building)… contact Arline and make a plan! 540.636.6019

If you fall in love with the bowl you paint, you can buy it for a $25.00 donation to House of Hope. If you let the pot go into your events inventory, that’s great too!

Beneficiary – House of Hope

This event is for House of Hope, our local program for homeless men. Home is a place where real transformation takes place for those who are ready to start work. This year we tried to share more stories than ever about the house and the men who are changing their lives. You may remember seeing home manager, George Hoffman jump into the freezing cold water at the Polar Plunge this year to help support the Humane Society of Warren County. Or, assistant house manager Terry Caldwell volunteered for a Love Our Community event hosted by the Warren Alliance. Pictures of Terry appeared in the local news as balloons of freezing cold water exploded on his head causing the children to scream with joy!

The Empty Bowl Supper is House of Hope’s largest fundraiser of the year. Let’s help support them now, as they have helped support others. If you are not available to attend the event, donations of any size are welcome. Every donation is appreciated! Click here to donate: warrencountyhomeless.org/donate
