A Kissimmee real estate agent, who said he is selling vacation homes near Walt Disney World, has been charged with breaking into the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, according to federal court documents released Tuesday.
Matthew Montalvo, 45, allegedly enters the Capitol at about 2:30 p.m. in a black coat and brown backpack amid a crowd of rioters trying to prevent Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s presidential victory over then-President Donald Trump — an attack that left five dead Including a police officer in the Capitol.
Montalvo was arrested Tuesday in Kissimmee and faces federal charges for entering a restricted building; disorderly and disruptive behavior in a restricted building; disorganized behavior in the Capitol; And march, demonstrate or strike at the Capitol.
Federal authorities said surveillance footage and body camera video showed Montalvo walking the second floor of the Capitol for more than 25 minutes.

He was put under investigation after an FBI task force officer obtained cellular records from Verizon through a search warrant that recorded Montalvo using his phone from inside the Capitol during the mutiny.

Representatives of the Florida Real Estate Commission and the Florida Department of Professional and Commercial Regulations did not respond to an inquiry about whether or not it would suspend the Montalvo property license.
According to the FREC website, agents who have been or have been convicted of an offense in a jurisdiction relating to the licensee’s practice or ability to exercise it will serve as grounds for disciplinary action.
